However, you can always have homemade prune juice. The homemade prune juice is easier to make and safe to drink.  You can have more fun with some prunes by trying the following simple recipe.

Ingredients

  • 5 prunes
  • 300ml hot water
  • 5 ice cubes
  • 1 teaspoon  sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Soak all the 5 prunes in 60ml of hot water for 20-30 minutes. Alternatively, prunes can be soaked until they are soft. Keep the container closed when soaking prunes.
  2. Transfer the soaked prunes into a blender. And then add 240 ml of water and 1 teaspoon of sugar.
  3. Blend until it is smooth. Note that you can drink it from this point.
  4. Place a mesh strainer over a glass. Then transfer the juice to a glass, pouring through a mesh.
  5. Pour lemon juice.
  6. Finally, add ice blocks into a clean glass and pour your juice. Mix and enjoy your homemade prune juice.
